THOUGHT OF THE DAY

I just saw this and I had to post it for everyone to see......Enjoy!

F A M I L Y
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.
He said, 'Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you.'
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones,
young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love,
you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'
By this time,
I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,'
I said.
'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled,
'I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'
I said,
'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said,
'Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway.'
I said,
'Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'
FAMILY Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company tha t we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think? So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means? FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

JUST IN THE `NIC TIME

Ok......I went to the church Career Fair today.

I wanted to cry when I left that Career Fair! There were not any Payroll or Human Resource jobs there. I had just received word that I was not getting the 911 job and I really freaked out!!!! I thought, "What is wrong with me????" I even prayed to the big man upstairs and asked him, "Why me??? I am trying my hardest to provide for my family and nothing!!!"

When I got home I was really depressed......I ate an enormously big bowl of ice cream with Carmel and chocolate!! (I mean enormous!) When I finished eating it I watched Maury and then I received a phone call. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it. I checked my messages and then I was shouting for joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the job real close to my home and they wanted to hire me! Just in the nick of time~~~I almost ate some more ice cream before this message.~~~

So that goes to show everyone that just wait.......and good things do happen when you talk to the man upstairs!!

TO GET EVERYONE CAUGHT UP

I am going to catch everyone up on the past week or so.

The children didn't really do anything too exciting this past week. They really stayed at home and we made some friendship bracelets together and they took some to their friends at school. Pablo loves being at home with me. He is definitely a Mommy's boy!!

I have been taking care of my Grandma this week! I forget how much fun I use to have playing all of those games with her when I was younger!! I got to experience that again. I am so thankful that I have realized that I need to spend time with my Grandma while I can. I love her so much and she means the world to me!!!

I went on a job interview on Tuesday with a payroll processing company. I loved the lady that I interview with!! She is the best person! I was told that I would receive a call back to interview with the VP of the company in about a week. She already called me back yesterday to tell me that he wants to interview me on Tuesday of next week. This job is pretty close to where I live....actually it is really close to where Farrah lives. This would be a great opportunity and it pays more money that the other job. This job pays $19-$20 and hour.!! I would love to get this job. The benefits are not as good but do you think that more pay an hour or better benefits for less money is the best option to do??? Please let me know your opinion.

FRIENDLY FRIDAY

Ok. So on Fridays I try to be friendly to everyone that I see because it is the last day of the work/school week! We all know what that means......sleep in the following day.

Well, I guess this lady at WalMart didn't see it my way! My son was being a boy at WalMart in the line while I was checking out. You know, trying to play with everything that he saw!!(including the animals toys that are on the checkout isles) I tried and tried to calm him down and keep him out of all the things that he was messing with......it didn't happen! This lady had the nerve to tell me to keep my son out of everything. As if I was not already trying to do that!!!! The nerve of some people! She didn't even work there!!! I was very nice to her though. (Yes Kim, I didn't want to be nice to her but I was.) I kindly said....."If you were watching me then you would see that I am trying to keep him out of everything. SO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, LADY!!!!!!!!" Yeah the last part I did get a little rude. I am sorry but when you see that someone is trying to keep their children under control and it is not working you don't say stuff like that to them!!!! Has anyone else had this experience before??? Please let me know because I am very curious!

What A Day----Wednesday That Is

Well, What a day was Wednesday!!!!

I started the day off really good.

  • Got the girls off to school on time, (Just Barely).
  • Got Pablo to the babysitters a little late but nothing to worry about.
  • I got to my 9:30 job interview on time.
  • This is where the day starts to go south. Everything about this job seemed to be perfect until......they told me how much it paid. It didn't pay very much at all! I wasted so much gas getting out there and it was not worth it!
  • Then I go out to Rowlett to pick up my insurance card from the agent and I get lost.
  • My mom told me it was somewhere and come to find out if was on a different road.
  • I have to call the agent and find out where they really are located (now keep in mind that my cell phone didn't work at the time and it is pooring rain outside).I got outside to use a pay phone and come to find out they were located right in front of where I used the pay phone at! (I was so angry because I was sopping wet!)
  • Then I go to my mothers to rest and I get a phone call from the school nurse telling me that one of my daughters have just thrown up and I have to come pick her up(keep in mind that I still haven't been to my interview at 2:00 at the police station).
  • Hesitantly I get myself together to go pick up Elizabeth and when she comes home she doesn't even act like she is sick!(very typical for my children).
  • Hesitantly I ask my little brother to watch her while I go on my interview.
  • The interview was long and pretty harsh.(I hope I get this job after all that I have been through!!)
  • Finally I get home and pick the children up and try to cook dinner at my mother's house
  • I realize that their is not any hamburger meat.......I call my mother she picks up some and then I make dinner 1 1/2 hours later.

Let me end this by saying What a Day was Wednesday!!!

UPDATE ON THE PAST WEEK

Okay....I know that I haven't posted anything in a while so here I go.

The kids and I have been busy. Since my last post I had an interview with the panel and now they called me back to have an interview with the background investigator. I go to that interview Tomorrow, Wednesday the 3rd of October. I am really looking forward to working for the police department. I think that it will be a great opportunity.

The children have been keeping me busy as well......They have had so much homework lately. It is hard being in 3rd and 2nd grade again. I have to really remember some of the things that are supposed to be easy to me. My children have it hard! I couldn't remember for the life of me what a "7up sentence was. My mother had to tell me what it was. I couldn't believe that she remembered it. Pablo he has been really good lately. He has been going to the babysitters house a lot lately. I have had to go to the police station several times for all of this stuff.

Well that is about it. Oh yeah I almost forgot.........They said that I will have to strip search the women inmates if I work the deep night shift!!!! Gross, but I think that I will be able to handle it!!
